YouthCARE’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Lori Arnold as the organization’s new Executive Director effective November 1, 2018. After conducting a thorough search, Arnold was selected to lead YouthCARE based on her track record of success at nonprofit organizations, as well as her deep commitment to youth development.
“Lori is uniquely qualified for this position and has the drive and experience to lead YouthCARE into 2019 and beyond,” said Lisa Fulton, YouthCARE’s Board Chair. “Lori brings relevant experience from her work at organizations similar to our own, and also a personal commitment to youth development and racial equity. The Board and staff are excited to work with her.”
Arnold has broad experience across many nonprofit organizations, including most recently her role as the Executive Director at Urban Roots MN. She led the development of the organization’s strategic plan and instituted board training on diversity, equity and equality, along with a new organizational policy on the same topic.
In addition to her time at Urban Roots MN, Arnold has held Associate Executive Director roles at Access Justice PSC, Rivers of Hope and Family Promise of Anoka County. During her tenure at these organizations, she was active in development and grant writing, instituting organizational policies and building relationships with stakeholders, from Board to staff to community partners. She holds a Masters of Arts degree in management from St. Mary’s University, with a focus in nonprofit management. Arnold also taught in an adjunct role at Winona State University, in their Child Advocacy and Women’s Studies program.
“My background, interests and training are all represented in YouthCARE’s programming,” said Arnold. “I’m confident my education and experience in leading nonprofit organizations will bring YouthCARE to the next level. I’m looking forward to leading this incredible organization, in partnership with the staff, Board, Advisory Board, youth, donors and many engaged community members.”
Throughout Arnold’s career, she’s been involved in youth development, women’s issues and causes that support equity and diversity. Arnold has been involved with many camping and outdoors programs, including serving on a Board of Directors for a camp in northern Minnesota for 6 years, where she raised over $1 million to build a new facility that revitalized their camping program.
One of the first YouthCARE initiatives led by Arnold will be the annual fundraising campaign, which will kick off in November. This year’s campaign goal is to raise $75,000 by the end of 2018, with funding going to support YouthCARE’s programming. Additional information on the campaign will be released in the coming weeks.
